Home of Tin Tin and the Smurfs, Brussels is quite the strange town. The strange rainy/cold weather followed us here too. In Brussels, 2009 is the year of the cartoon!? There are cartoons pictured on various walls throughout the city. We made it from the train station to the hostel with little trouble. This hostel is much bigger than the one in London. We feel we may have been spoiled to have such a good one there, but this one isn't bad. Very clean. We have been enjoying some Belgium cuisine and brews. Although we are yet to have a waffle! We're only here for a night and miss Paris already. We had the best time yesterday roaming around Claude Monet's flower gardens and over the water lilly bridges. We are really looking the most forward to our adventures to come in Amsterdam. Make sure to leave us comments! We look forward to hearing much from home because when we do get the internet, so far it's only been long enough to leave a short post on our blog. We have not yet even had the chance to check email or anything!
Looking forward to seeing you in the Netherlands. Hopefully soon we will have clean clothes and not a stomach ache from belgium chocolate!
Love, Hall and Liz

ReplyDeleteHey girls! I miss Paris too. Glad you made it to the Marais and out to see Monet's gardens. Can't wait to see the pics. Miss you a lot. Survived my triathlon and even beat my time three years ago! Love the blogs. Love, Dad
ReplyDeleteOfficial: organic is shot, and I'm trying to get my shift covered Sunday so that I can go romp around at Bonnaroo...who'd a thunk it? I'm definitely having my irresponsible moment. Love you ladies and I hope that you are finding some fun and spontenaity in your lives too!
ReplyDelete<3 S
I'm officially following the blog! Your journey is almost too much for me to handle! I'm sitting at my desk right now, taking a break from writing like crazy! There was a shooting at the Holocaust Museum today (and which I visited Saturday) so we have all been writing scripts as breaking news comes in. Doubtful I'll be leaving here at 5:30 like I'm supposed to.
ReplyDeleteI'm picturing the two of you walking through the Louvre, and I can only imagine you nearly peed yourselves.
I found out tonight I got the assistantship in Charleston, and will officially be moving at the beginning of August. On the agenda is finding people to rent the condo, which will be easier than finding a roommate. I have spoken with several girls when I thought I would still be living in Knoxville, and none would work for me. None measured up to you, Hall, that is :)
Also, your card came in the mail two days ago. It was so sweet, and made me smile after having a stressful day as work. Not to mention I loved the stationary. I think I did well picking out something to match your personality.
Thinking about you girls...jealous thoughts of how much fun you're having, but especially that you have safe travels.
Love and miss you, and will be commenting again soon! xoxox
You are missing a huge rain storm that is heading to Bonnaroo, which opens this morning. Hope Lane has his tent set up! Hope you enjoy Brussels---home of UCB. Keith sends his love. Dad
ReplyDeleteHey you guys! Sounds like ya'll are having a great time! We just got back from Ireland.
ReplyDeleteToo bad we could not meet up. Thanks for keeping the rain with you. We had unuasally warm and DRY weather. Ireland is beautiful. Did you know about that big concert in England? Not sure of the name but it was on the TV. Looked a little like a Euro-Bonnaroo.
Rick says Hello.
